Stainless Steel Reducers
Stainless Steel Reducers
A stainless steel reducer is a critical component in piping systems, designed to connect pipes of different diameters seamlessly. These reducers are utilized across various industries, including oil and gas, chemical processing, power generation, water treatment, and more. With their robust properties, stainless steel reducers ensure reliable performance under challenging conditions such as high pressure, extreme temperatures, and corrosive environments.
There are two main types of stainless steel reducers:
Concentric Reducer: Symmetrical and primarily used in vertical piping systems.
Eccentric Reducer: Asymmetrical and commonly used in horizontal piping systems to avoid air accumulation.
Types of Steel Reducers:
Types of Stainless Steel Reducers
Concentric Reducer
- Shape: Cone-shaped with a common centerline for the larger and smaller diameters.
- Use: Primarily employed in vertical piping systems or applications where the fluid flow direction and elevation change.
Eccentric Reducer
- Shape: One edge is aligned, creating an offset between the larger and smaller diameters.
- Use: Used in horizontal piping systems to maintain a flat bottom, preventing air pockets and ensuring efficient flow.
