Description
Product Description DIN 2605 Elbow
DIN 2605 elbow are standardized pipe fittings designed to change the direction of flow in pipelines. These elbows are manufactured according to the specifications laid out in the DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung) standards, ensuring quality, reliability, and performance. DIN 2605 is a widely recognized standard for pipe fittings, particularly elbows, used in various industries including petrochemical, oil and gas, energy, and construction.
The standard covers:
- Elbow Types: Short radius (SR) and long radius (LR)
- Angles: 45°, 90°, and 180° (other custom angles available)
- Wall Thickness: As per DIN 2605 or related pipe schedules
- Materials: Compatible with various materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel

Types of DIN 2605 Elbows
- Short Radius (SR) Elbows:
- Radius of curvature equals the pipe diameter (R = D).
- Suitable for applications with limited space.
- Higher pressure drop compared to long-radius elbows.
- Long Radius (LR) Elbows:
- Radius of curvature is 1.5 times the pipe diameter (R = 1.5D).
- Preferred for smoother flow and reduced pressure loss.
- Custom Bends:
- Manufactured to specific angles and radii as per project requirements.
Manufacturing Process
- Material Selection: Based on application and operating conditions.
- Forming: Using hot or cold forming techniques to achieve the desired shape and dimensions.
- Heat Treatment: Stress-relieving or normalizing to enhance mechanical properties.
