Description
AR400 Wear Plate (UNS K11801)
AR400 Wear Plate, also known as Abrasion Resistant 400 Steel Plate, is a high-strength steel plate designed to withstand heavy wear, abrasion, and impact. Identified under UNS K11801, AR400 plates are widely used in industries where materials constantly slide, grind, or impact surfaces.
The plate typically has a nominal hardness of 400 Brinell Hardness (HB) which provides excellent resistance to abrasion while maintaining good weldability and machinability. AR400 wear plates are commonly used in mining, construction, cement plants, material handling, and heavy equipment manufacturing.
Due to its durability and longer service life, AR400 steel helps reduce maintenance costs and downtime in industrial equipment.
Key Features
- High abrasion resistance with approx. 400 HB hardness
- Excellent impact resistance
- Good weldability and fabrication capability
- Longer service life compared to mild steel plates
- Reduced maintenance and replacement costs
- Suitable for heavy-duty industrial environments
- Good balance of strength and toughness
