Heat Treatment
Plates with a thickness of 40 mm (1.5 inches) or less are typically supplied in an as-rolled condition. However, if notch-toughness tests are required, normalization is recommended. For plates exceeding 40 mm in thickness, normalization is mandatory to ensure the desired mechanical properties are achieved.
