What is Carbon Steel Plate?
Carbon Steel Plate is a flat-rolled steel product primarily of iron and carbon. It has up to 2.1% carbon by weight and may contain traces of manganese, silicon, and copper. Carbon steel is classed according to its carbon content:
- Low Carbon Steel Plate (Mild Steel) contains less than 0.3% carbon. Easy to weld and machine.
- Medium Carbon Steel Plate has 0.3% to 0.6% carbon. Provides enhanced strength and wear resistance.
Key Features
- High tensile strength and yield strength
- Excellent toughness and wear resistance
- Superior weldability and formability
- Cost-effective material with long service life
- Available in a wide range of thicknesses and widths
- Compatible with multiple fabrication techniques
Carbon Steel Plate Grades
Low/High Carbon Steel Plate
- Low Carbon Steel Plate (Mild Steel): Contains up to 0.25% carbon
- Medium Carbon Steel Plate: Contains 0.25% to 0.60% carbon
- High Carbon Steel Plate: Contains 0.60% to 1.25% carbon
